My Journey Through Temptation and How I Stayed Focused

INTRODUCTION

Temptation is a silent battle many of us fight every day. For me, it wasn’t just about resisting what was wrong—it was about choosing what was right, even when it felt impossible.

GETTING HONEST

My journey began with a desire to become a better man. I was tired of cycles that stole my peace and clouded my mind. Whether it was addiction, negative thoughts, or destructive habits, I felt like I was losing.

But then I did something simple and powerful: I got honest with myself.

I stopped pretending, admitted my weakness, and in that moment, I found strength—not in myself, but in God.

HOW TO STAY FOCUSED

1. Stayed Connected to the Truth

Scriptures like 1 Corinthians 10:13 reminded me that no temptation is too great with God on my side.

2. Build New Habits

I replaced old routines with new ones: working out, journaling, worship, and meaningful conversations.

3. Learned to Forgive Myself

Growth isn’t about perfection—it’s about progress. Every fall became a lesson, not a label.

4. Focused on My “Why”

My reasons—God, my purpose, my future—kept me centered. Purpose became my anchor.

5. Spoke Life Into My Day

Every morning, I declared: “I am not my past. I am who God says I am.”

 It changed everything.

A Word to You

If you’re fighting temptation, know this: You are not alone. Stay focused. Keep praying. Keep growing. You’re becoming stronger than you think.
